Maple Walnut Brownies
1/4 lb. Butter, unsalted
1 Cup Light Brown Sugar
1/3 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 2/3 Cups Flour
1 1/2 teas. Watkins
Baking Powder
1/2 teas. Salt
2 Eggs
2 teas. Watkins
Maple Extract
1 Cup Coarsely Chopped Nuts
Heat oven to 325. In a large saucepan, melt butter over
very low heat. Add both sugars and stir until smooth. Let cool. Butter a 9 inch baking
pan. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat the eggs into the sugar mixture one at a
time. Gradually stir in flour mixture. Stir in 3/4 cup of walnuts. Pour the batter into
the pan and smooth top. Sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake until the edges come away from
the pan--about 45 minutes.
