My Mom's Coffee Cake
From the Collection of Phyllis Smith

Cream  1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
Add 3 cup flour
Mix well
Take out 1 cup of mixture & reserve
To rest add 2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp. Watkins Nutmeg
1 tsp. Watkins Cinnamon
1 tsp. Watkins Original Double Strength Vanilla

 

Separate into two 9" round cake pans. Sprinkle reserved mixture over top. Add a little more cinnamon to top. Bake at 350o fpr 25-30 mins.

 

Linda - My Mom always made this “cake” for special occasions. I still make it for Christmas & Easter breakfast.
