When placing orders with Watkins be sure you are doing what makes good business sense. As a Watkins Associate you are billed $7.95 for orders under $132.00. It wouldn't be practical to order $30 or $40 of products and pay $7.95 shipping cost. You should try to accumulate at least $100 or more in an order because your shipping will still be $7.95 all the way up to $132.00. If you need more to 'beef up' your order, look through your household and find what items you're out of that you need to order. Make your shopping list of items you will need anyway.
Also you can check with some customers by making some calls and saying, "I'm placing an order, is there anything you need from the Monthly Highlights Catalog I gave you?". This works almost everytime and you can easily get your order to $100 or more. It is wise to place orders at least every other week so customers don't have to wait very long for their products.
If you have customers who live out of the area or people you don't see regularly, be sure that you advise them to place their orders directly through Watkins. Their shipping is only $4.45 plus .50 for damage and protection (insurance). If they insist on calling you because you're good friends or family members, that's fine. You can phone the order in for them and use your quick pay account or credit card and still only be charged the customer shipping charge by Watkins. Remind your customers that no matter how much they order, the shipping charge stays at $4.45 plus .50 for damage and protection. Encourage them to 'order away'!
You may have downline Associates who are also family members or friends and they just want to call you. That's OK, but be sure to charge them the appropriate shipping on their orders. If they can pick the order up from you, you can charge them 6%. Sometimes Associates who just want a few items here or there may appreciate your doing this for them. It is not good to see an Associate order a couple of items totaling $10.00 or so and then pay $7.95 in shipping. The other option is to try to get your Associates or customers to 'Watkinize' their home more by trying more products.
