Watkins Trip to Ireland
Why We Were A Day Late
| Our trip was cut short one
day because there were delays at the Newark airport and we would not be
able to make our connection! Our flight was supposed to arrive in Newark at 7:00 PM and
our flight to Shannon Ireland was supposed to leave at 8:30 PM but due to delays our
flight from Buffalo would not arrive in time to board the Shannon flight. Needless to say,
we were not very happy. The airline blamed the travel agency. The travel agency blamed the
airline. The airline, Contentintal, would do nothing to compansate us for this mess
because they say that 1 hour in Newark for an International flight is all you need. So the first night we went home. I stayed up until 3:30 AM (8:30 AM
Ireland time) to call our people in Ireland with Watkins to let them know that we would
not be there that day. We were supposed to be picked up at the airport in Shannon
Airport on Sunday morning. There were a lot of the people who earned the trip on that
flight so they were met by a bus for the trip to Killarney. We figured that it probably
happened to others too, but when we finally got to Newark the next day there were only 2
others who missed the flight and they missed it due to mechanical failure of the plane
they were supposed to take from Dulles to Newark. |
