March 2004
March 31st
I woke up this morning to a report that said I was just above 4000 points
over last year! Oh my gosh! Can I make it to 5000? I have an order that I can place today
or tomorrow but it's not enough. Will anyone on my team order? I know one gal needs about
500 to reach 2000. She has a gal who is supposed to order so I was watching my points all
day. By 7:00 PM I went over 5000 points above last year! WooHoo! Because I also have 2
people who reached 1000 points in their first 3 months, I also receive 3000 points extra,
so I got 8000 Performance Reward Points this month! I still have a LONG way to go to earn
the Destiny Builders trip, but if I don't reach that goal, there are other prizes
available. Log in as a guest and see them here: www.watkinsrewards.com
March 30th
I'm watching my total group points in these last days of the month. For
each 1000 total group points that I have, I receive an added bonus of 1000 Performance
Rewards Points. The more I gather during the year, the bigger prize I can purchase or I
could earn the Watkins trip. While I didn't earn the trip last year, I did receive a
digital camera, a rug shampooer and a chain saw for my husband FREE. They didn't even
charge me shipping. :) I've been just about 2000 points over so have been watching to see
what happens. Today I'm closer to 3000!
March 29th
Monday night I did some coaching calls with some new members of my team.
One of these gals is fairly local to me (about 1 1/2 hours away) so will begin attending
our monthly local meetings. She found me through BakingABusiness!
March 26th
Meals on Wheels day! My morning this week was free then I delivered meals
through the Meals on Wheels program. I took the afternoon off to do some reading then had
a coaching call with one of my Associates.
March 25th
Good Tastings night! Tonight I had a wonderful Good Tastings party. This
group has had about 8 parties over the years and they love Watkins products! In the past
they have mostly purchased our food & personal care items, but at the last party, one
of them decided to try one of our cleaning products. She loved it and now they have
totally branched out to our entire line, including our supplements. The host joined our
Healthy Advantage program to receive certain items at 30% off plus free shipping. It costs
$49.95 to join Watkins plus $30 a year. That gives you access to the Healthy Advantage.
March 24th
Appointment Day! I had all kinds of appointments today - everything from
following up with people to coaching calls and teleconference classes. I did leave several
hours open between 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM to enjoy lunch out with a friend. :)
March 23rd
I had a delightful vusit with my newest Good Tastings host and some of her
friends. They are all Watkins product lovers and don't know anyone in the area who is an
Associate. They called Watkins hoping to find someone and they found me! We really need
more people working Watkins as a home-based business.
Tonight was our monthly local meeting at a
centrally located restaurant. We get together, have dinner, talk about working our
business and try out new products. We reviewed the newest Good Tastings assortment for
spring and the March PEP, which is one of our business building tools.
March 22nd
I received a call from Watkins today about a lady in my area who wants to
have a Good Tastings. I called her and we set a date. I'm going to go see her tomorrow and
bring her a Good Tastings pack. My evening today had back to back coaching calls with
folks working their business. I love the excitement of working with new people. It
interesting to me to see the different ways people decide to work. Some love the Good
Tastings concept, some want to build a team, some want to work one-on-one with folks, some
will do whatever it takes to reach their goals.
March 19th
My day today starts with a coaching call to a brand new Associate. We
spend time on the phone planning how she will work her business and what it will take to
reach the goals she has set for herself. Then I'm off to do Meals on Wheels. Friday is a
light day so I have the afternoon free. At night, I follow-up with my last Good Tastings
host to get her show closed and the products ordered.
March 18th
My morning is filled with back to back coaching calls today then I'm off
to my local Adult Residence for their monthly Good Tastings. I focus on things they can
have for lunch and other items that they will use in their daily lives. I'm getting to
know the ladies who attend and they always have stories to tell. It's a great way to spend
an hour in the afternoon.
March 17th
Happy St Patrick's Day! We made our corned beef and cabbage but not quite
the traditional way. Last year, I tried making cabbage by sautéing it in Watkins Garlic
& Parsley Grapeseed Oil then seasoning with Watkins Coleslaw Seasoning. It's not
exactly a "recipe" I can share, but basically we sauté the cabbage in 1-2 TBSP.
of the Grapeseed Oil, then add the Coleslaw Seasoning to taste. We like it so much that
we've replaced the traditional boiled cabbage with this variety. There were three coaching
calls on my calendar today plus Watkins Manager Conference Call. We discussed the exciting
growth Watkins is experiencing with our Good Tastings events. A lot of people are getting
started and earning good money with Watkins Good Tastings. We learned that at our
conference this year there will be some new Good Tastings materials introduced including a
new piece to send to those interested in Watkins plus a new cookbook. Our conference is in
June so you'll hear more then.
March 16th
My weekly newsletter is due out today so that was my priority in the
morning. In the evening I made some follow up calls to touch base with several customers
and potential business partners.
March 15th
I restarted coaching calls with a member of my team who has all the
qualities to reach success. She has been with me for several months now, but had some
unbelievable challenges tossed her way. She has risen above them and is ready to move
forward with her Watkins business. Her enthusiasm and her fortitude will take her a long
way. I expect she will soon be reaching Manager level and beyond.
March 12th
This morning, before leaving to do Meals on Wheels, I spent some time
deciding what I would be doing for my senior residence this month. Every month I go there
and they get to taste and try some Watkins products. It's a fun, relaxing hour for all of
us. :) This evening I had some follow up calls to make to people who have inquired about
Watkins as a business. It's funny, but over the years, I've learned a lot about people and
what they are really saying. This is not a business for everyone, but for those who grasp
the concept and work their business, the rewards are great!
March 11th
I had two coaching calls scheduled this morning but one person was going
to be out of town. The person on my schedule tonight had a family emergency so her call
was also postponed. One of the benefits of this kind of business is that you can
take time off if needed and your business will still be there when you return. I decided
to use my unexpected time off to go to lunch with a friend!
March 10th
My day today started with two coaching calls, then I sent out this month's
Spice of the Month Club packages, attended an online business chat, took a teleclass at
MLM University and ended with another coaching call. A lot of the work that I do now is on
the phone or online, but it hasn't always been that way.
March 9th
My weekly newsletter goes out today so since I didn't do it ahead of time,
I worked on it in the morning. My newsletter gives me the opportunity to share recipes,
product tips and more with lots of wonderful people.
March 8th
I had a Watkins Good Tastings event scheduled tonight and while we did
hold the event, the weather here in WNY was horrible! My hostess lives in the
"country" on a hill and the snow made travel difficult. I know that a lot of
people didn't attend due to the weather. However, the ones who did attend had fun and got
to try lots of good food. In attendance was a young man (19) with his mom. They both got
excited about our products. The young man & I discussed the "metrosexual"
concept which is basically a guy who cares about skin care, hair care and the way he
looks. His mom scheduled her own Watkins Good Tastings but I'll be bringing Watkins Trade
Winds line of products for him to try.
March 6th
I usually don't work on Saturday unless I am doing a fair or show, but
today I had another coaching call plus I called my next Watkins Good Tastings hostess to
talk about how many would be attending her event.
March 4th
My day today started and ended with coaching calls to members of my team.
I also attended some tele-classes at MLM University.com to continue learning. One of the
benefits for me with my business is that I have so many opportunities to continue to learn
and grow.
March 3rd
Today is taxes day. One of the huge benefits of a home-based business is
the income tax deductions you can legally take. If you do it right, you can even turn some
normal expenses into a tax deduction. Sounds good to me! Work today consisted of some
follow up phone calls and coaching calls to several members of my team. Individual
coaching helps them work their business in ways that fit their goals & dreams.
March 2nd
My weekly newsletter is published today so I spent some time putting it together.
March 1st
Today is the day I work on my newsletter to be sent on Tuesday. I try to
do it the day before so that it goes out in the morning. Tomorrow's newsletter is fun
because I announce the drawing winners.
