June 2004
As you can tell if you've been reading my
blog, I got very far behind! I missed most of May and almost all of June. Most of my work
time is spent coaching new members of my team. I love helping others get started, teaching
them about Watkins and our wonderful products.
June 27th - 30th was our
annual International Business Conference. I truly love attending and being part of this
yearly event. We start with our Expo where there are lots of booths with fun things to do
at each one. At some of them we get to try new products, some are educational and some are
give us a challenge! Our Expo also includes some training time and some fun time. This
year we played "Family Feud" the Watkins way! I'm proud to say that my team won
in a match-up with another Watkins family team. LOL Our conference officially starts the
next day with entertainment (This year it was Johnny Peppercorn as we "Pepper North
America" with Watkins) as well opening speeches by Watkins staff. There are breakout
sessions where we learn about the newest materials and hear from others who are
successful.

Our awards
night is always special as Watkins recognizes top achievers for this year.
Here's me getting a hug from Watkins owner,
Irwin Jacobs upon achieving #1 Top Sponsor in the Silver Manager
Catagory. |

This one is me with Beth Formiller, Vice President of Field Training and
Development, receiving flowers upon earning #5 Top Manager in the Silver
Manager Catagory.

This year we had a day of fun on the
Mississippi river. The Mississippi River Grand Excursion is held every 150 years and this
was the year! Watkins timed our Conference to take place when the boats would be in
Winona, MN. We had a day of touring corporate headquarters, visiting the Watkins museum
and then had lunch aboard the Celebration Belle as she cruised the river. Watkins is a
major sponsor of the Grand Excursion and it was really cool to see our banner flying on
the Celebration Belle!
To travel to and from WIBC there were three of
us who took a van. One would drive, one would navigate and one would rest. It is a 14 hour
drive from my home to LaCrosse, WI where the Conference was held and we went straight
through. I have to say that it was not too bad. We all worked well together and had fun
while traveling. Coming home was a bit of a drag because, for some reason, it took us
longer and it was late at night when we got back, but we survived and would do it again!
We've already made plans for WIBC 2005. :)
